Event Cross-Promotion
We’re eager to cross-promote events that take up the social, societal, and justice aspects of technology and/or involve Affiliates of Society + Technology at UW.
To request we promote your events, fill in the form below. We cross-promote eligible events in a range of ways, including visibility on our website, calendar, or through our mailing lists.
Submission Tips
- Events should take place on the University of Washington’s campuses, involve someone from the UW, or be organized by a UW unit; we prioritize events by and for our Affiliates.
- Include an image. Please provide an .jpg image or logo associated with your event, for which you have secured the necessary permissions; no flyers please.
- Ensure the information you provide is accurate and up-to-date.
- Provide an accessibility contact.
- Submit your event at least 14 days in advance.

Here’s what to do if you have a UW Trumba account
- Email help@uw.edu and request Show On permission for your calendar to Also Show On our calendar (our ID is “sea_society”). By default, Show On permissions to your Trumba calendar are initially configured by UW-IT when a calendar is first created. To share your calendar with us, you’ll need to request UW-IT edit your Show on permissions.
- Once UW-IT grants Show On permission to “sea_society”, you’ll see our calendar in your “OTHER CALENDARS” dropdown, nested in the Office of Global Affairs folder. These are visible on the bottom left of your Trumba landing page. As a reminder, use www.trumba.uw.edu to access your Trumba calendar settings.
- Create or edit an event. Navigate to the Also Shows On field below the event details. Select “Society and Technology” to share your events with our growing community.
Tips
Show On permission enables bi-directional sharing — your department can promote some of your events up to Society + Technology at UW’s calendar and also share events down from our calendar to yours.
